It is disturbing to see a crowd of people on TV and nearly everyone is overweight, including children. I agree with all the points in the article but will also add that the biggest thing to do for yourself, if you are fat, is stop eating foods prepared by somebody else, period. I am talking about junk, frozen and processed foods, ready to eat. Start cooking your own meals from scratch. If you won't do it for yourself, do it for your children.

Great article I must say enjoyed the read and can definitely relate to step 3. Although a detox diet is definitely a good way to lose weight, everyone knows that to lose weight you must reduce your calorie intake and create a calorie deficit. So I think the best way to do it would be to do both.

I have a friend in the same situation. She was about 150 pounds overweight, and chose to have the gastric bypass surgery done. She started dropping pounds fast, like you wouldn’t believe. But, as she dropped about 75 pounds, she has skin hanging quite a bit. She really regrets doing this, and wishes she would have just stuck to a diet and workout plan. Now she has a ton of other operations she’ll need to consider, removing the extra skin etc. As it’s become worse of an eye soar, then what she thought being overweight was.

Look. Here's the bottom line...

I your looking to naturally lose weight fast and get healthy. I mean you really NEED it. I'm talking dropping significant weight. 10 lbs. 20lbs. In the next 20 days or so. Then detoxing is beyond a shadow of any doubt one of the single greatest things you can do. It is a PROVEN strategy.

You have to experiment to find the right treat for your sweet tooth that fits your diet.

The less you eat, the more your body protects itself and begins to go into starvation mode, holding on to more food, storing it as fat and robbing your muscles of nutrients. Make sure you eat a good breakfast to start your day right. Then, keep your metabolism working throughout the day with small meals and healthy snacks.

Just wanted to say that this does look like a good blog with lots of people giving their advice to all that need it. so here's my go!

The Pursuit of Weight and Fat Loss is a constant battle that has faced many people from the dawn of time, but the key fundamentals will never change and provided these are adhered to, you will never fail!

1. Work out your Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR). This is the rate at which you burn calories by just general daily activities. This will give you an idea of what Calorie intake you should be aiming for. THIS CAN BE IMPROVED/CHANGED!

2. Set your weight loss goal. Whether it be lose 1lb a week etc

3. Determine what exercise regime you will undertake, light cardio, intense weights, none if you wish! Whatever you choose!

4. Adjust your calorie intake to match your goal. For example, to lose 1lb a week, reduce daily intake based on your BMR by 350 - 500 calories (exchange that takeaway for light lunch or your heavy carb loaded evening meal to a standard protein based fish dish) and without even noticing you will start to shift weight. This is where exercise is great, because your body is already losing the weight, and the process is speeded up by burning extra calories.

5. Keep track of your progress and change your needs accordingly. For example, after you have lost 10lb, your BMR will be different and therefore your nutritional requirements will be different, just re-assess and go for it again!

There is no exact science or secret formula. The bottom line is, work out your BMR, reduce the number of calories you intake in order to drop the correct amount, exercise to speed up the process and promote good health, measure your success and reassess. It is as simple as that.

A few notes may help:

1. If your body starts the weight loss process at a fast rate it will inevitably slow down, this is due to your body going into a sort of "starvation" state, where it wants to hold onto as much fat as possible in order to preserve its life. This is completely normal and this is where exercise is key, because it helps continue the fat loss process when the body wants to stop it.

2. When your weight loss starts to plateau (even out), you need to shock your body into fat loss again. This can be done easily by altering your workout intensity i.e for resistance training, largely increasing weight whilst dropping repetitions, or for cardio, up the level of intensity during interval training by reducing rest periods/increasing maximum effort periods.
The change doesn't have top be massive, just enough for the body to realise it needs to react differently to the work it is asked to do.

3. Drink water, water and more water! Water is the oil for our engines, weight and fat loss will not be a fraction as effective without it. I cannot stress this enough!

I hope this helps and is enough to get a few people on the road to losing weight,

Best weight loss tip I ever got, was to always put down your knife and fork between each mouthful. This slows down your eating, increases chewing making for easier digestion, and make you feel fuller sooner (consume less food / calories). So simple but really effective.

The trick to losing weight is simply living a healthy life! I was extremely fit my entire life until I got into college, and noticed myself slowly putting on pounds, but just recently I started a new system which has literally gotten me lean and taken off all of my baby weight. I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day: this is important because you don't want to overeat in any meal!
