There is a lively discussion about New Media vs. Old Media roles at Publishing 2.0: "Bloggers Are So Wrong About Media". Why is this so funny? Because the author uses health & wellness arena to make a case that the blogs are not valuable:
Let’s say I’m the average person who wants to see what blogs are all about. I’m interested in health and wellness. Where do I go to find the best blogs on this topic? Technorati? Even in the very unlikely event I’ve heard of Technorati (the name is so off putting), a search of Health and Wellness produces a list of random blog posts, including many in Asian languages.
What this really means is that health & wellness blogging has been lagging in development behind the rest of the blogosphere.
But that is the whole reason The Medical Blog Network was started - to solve the problems raised by Publishing 2.0 and make health & wellness blogs valuable and trusted source for a wide audience.
We are not the only ones who think finding solutions is a better idea than just dismissing the new media out of hand.
