Another big milestone in healthcare blogging!
Dale Hunscher of FutureHIT fame finally got it released and was kind enough to include my "expert's quote". Time flies!
Why should every health professional pay attention?
For the very first time there is a full-bodied book, articulating a clear case for how healthcare professionals can incorporate blogging into their professional identity, including the practice of medicine.
Dale makes an excellent case for the book in this paragraph:
My months-long, systematic investigation of the healthcare Blogosphere showed me that many people use blogging as an outlet for their opinions and frustrations. That’s all well and good—but it’s not business blogging. Business blogs are aimed at audiences whose decisions directly affect the growth of their practices. My sampling suggests that for every business blog, there are about fifty opinion/rant blogs.
I am not sure I fully agree that the ratio is that high, but maybe that is because the changes are really starting to happen. Business blogging for healthcare is here and efforts like Dale's book will help grow it.
What is good about book's approach?
The book is set as a first-person, experiential narrative, that professionals can relate to. This structure flows as a step-by-step guide for getting started and offers well-defined milestones and decision criteria. After reading the book you are left with the impression: "professional blogging is not that hard and I can do it too!". I found many of the questions people commonly ask me about blogging by health professionals answered very well.
I strongly feel that efforts like Dale's book will help health professionals incorporate this new technique in their arsenal. Visit his site to find out more: Business Blogging 4 Health Professionals.
