A recent study suggests that people who drink one or more diet sodas per day have higher risk for heart disease.
“How can something with zero calories that’s 99 percent water with a little flavoring in it…cause weight gain?” said Susan Neely, president of American beverage association, in response to this study.
I do not think it is fair to try to trivialize the issue- as Ms Neely tried to- by saying diet soda only has ‘little flavoring’ in it. This ‘little flavoring’ is chemicals and these chemicals should be studied carefully in light of these findings.

If it was just flavored water it would be ok, but what about the aspartame.
