Making A Pivot. I have been invloved in the startup of 150+ companies and organizations during the past 35+ years as either a founder, investor, advisor, executive or board member. During this time I have witnessed, advised or participated in companies making a "pivot" in their strategy, mission, business model, or core purpose for existing. There are many reasons such a dramatic tranformation takes place but usually it is critical for an organization's continued growth or even survival.

Congrats to Adam Boworth, Founder & CEO, Keas in raising $6.5 million in recent funding from Ignition Partners. Kea's mission to become "The Future of Corporate Wellness" is a noble and lofting goal. The company plans to assist corporate America to actively leverage online games to engage their employees in becoming healthier and improving their own health and wellness factors while enjoying the journey.

It has been 5 years since back in April 2006 I blogged about "MeCare" as I described a trend I was seeing emerge in healthcare, technology, demograhics and medicine. Half a decade ago I wrote about "MeCare" which discussed the 77 million" Baby Boomers" in the United States not t0 mention the increase in health & wellness awareness globally with 7 billion people and a growing population.

  Last Fall a friend introduced me to www.hashable.com by introducing me to its Chief Marketing Officer Emily Hickey a Silicon Valley veteran. The Company was founded by serial entrepenuer CEO Michael Yavonditte who is a pioneer in technology solutions.

I had lunch recently with a respected financial guru and he proclaims the "Sand Hill is dead". I am not sure that Sand Hill has been transformed into "Boot Hill" lately.
