Hello y'all!!  I have had a 2 year history of Bartholin Gland Cyst.  The first time I got on was uneventful....I was away on a 3 month business assignment went to a local OB/GYN it was diagnosed I was put on antibiotics and told if it didn't go away I would have to go to surgery to have it lanced.  After 5 days of praying and religiously taking my antibiotics it went away without fail and didn't show up again until this summer.  Well this summer it came back again the same way but after a course of antibiotics never quite cleared up (due to the fact the guy I was dating thought it was reduculous we couldn't have sex and pushed the issue and me, like an idoit agreed to have sex 3 days into antibiotic treatment...don't do it!!!).  Well about a month later my right labia and vulua are became so swollen that I was terrified..this was not the same as before.  The OB/GYN I was seeing told me, in no uncertain terms, it was probably a tumor and refered me to a GYN oncologist....the most devasting news of my life at 27 years old, no kids, no husband. So after 10 minutes of crying in the office I called my girlfriend who worked in an operating room and found an amazing GYN Oncologist.  Upon seeing me he said it was just a terribly infected cyst not a tumor (thank the good Lord!!  Curse my doctor....!!) kept me on the antibiotics.  Well now 2 months later I am in the shower and have a large round palpable mass that extends from mid anterior labia almost to the begining of my anus.  I was paniced..this was totally different.  I went to see my WONDERFUL GYN Oncologist and he said no fear it was back and a ward catheter was my best option.  A surgical procedure called a, marsupialization, which would cause me to have painful sex for sometime and he opted to try this first (did I mention he is a wonderful doctor and I trust him with my life??).  So, after a pinch of novocaine and a slit of the knife the cather was in and I am off work until tomorrow.  He said it may fall out on it's own. But if all goes well I will have no problems.

So, if you have a bum, lump, or mass of any kind that is like this...please, please, please go see your doctor.  The lump won't hurt it will just be uncomfortable when you wear tight clothes.  Don't sweat it...and if your Dr tells you it's cancer and she scares the life out of you...find a new one.

I believe I have a cyst now, on my labia majora. This's swollen and it hurts when I cross my legs. Could one get a cyst from masturbation? Thanks.
